[edit]

2012-06-04 this page was created after another editor split the article from World Mind Sports Games, per discussion he initiated there (with consensus of two).

Some Talk: World Mind Sports Games pertains here but all pertains to the general article so we leave all of it there.

This super-hatnote may later be replaced wholly or partly by official boilerplate on Split articles. --P64 (talk) 21:40, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Categories

[edit]

1. This article belongs in the new Category:2008 World Mind Sports Games, which I have created this hour. That will otherwise be populated by a robot according to template {{Category redirect}}, if i understand correctly.

 Done

2. I have not done the re-cat because the Categories list is a mess to me (and i have time only for Talk?). It needs attention. Why WP:RED categories for two of the four constituent sports? Where should we cat the main article and this one, which have identical Categories lists now?
• Perhaps for now we should notify the four WikiProjects (whose banners i have copied here), mention the categorization question, and do nothing about WP:CAT for a few days. In that time maybe the robot will also promptly clean up Category:1st World Mind Sports Games.

That old category page has not been deleted as I expected. Only this Talk section links it, so it is entirely obsolete. I'll revisit the back room and see ... --P64 (talk) 19:20, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done for WPCB (bridge) and Board and table games. I see that the two sports with WP:RED Competitions categories are the two without dedicated wikiprojects, draughts and xiangqi. Those categories may be a "Board and table" scheme ... --P64 (talk) 22:39, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

3. Why should any Games pages or categories be sorted by number, 0 and 1 to date, as now in the parent cat Category:World Mind Sports Games? --P64 (talk) 22:14, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

Following the split from World Mind Sports Games, these two articles provide many of the same old references and a few new refs. I have revised the other article[1] to improve some refs, nickname some, and gather some of their code in the References section.

One thing to do for the general and 2008 WMSG articles this summer is decide which old references usefully contribute to each article and cull those which do not, preferably using consistent format and nicknames for those refs that do remain in multiple articles. --P64 (talk) 18:38, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
