[edit]The edits done this morning (25 June 2008) to the box scores are mine. I was in such a rush to put in the reports I forgot to log in. I still need to put the report for the Crystal Palace Baltimore-Harrisburg game when that becomes available. Mtndrums (talk) 08:35, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Coverage?
[edit]Will this tournament be broadcast anywhere? FSC, online? Lambertman (talk) 13:18, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- FSC has the final, but other than that I dunno. You might want to email the people at USOpenCup.com, and if you do, please post something here or add it to the article. -- Grant.Alpaugh 13:38, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Keep an eye on USOpenCup.com. They'll have all the information on whether or not games will be broadcast (internet radio, webcast, matchtracker, etc.) closer to game time, as well as any and all links. If a USL-1 club hosts, they have the option of broadcasting their match on USLLive.com. The Rochester Rhinos have taken up that option for next week's first round match. FSC only has the final, but there will be plenty of online options to follow the games. --Otav347 (talk) 15:58, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Why are the home teams listed second? Everywhere else I've ever seen the Home Teams are listed first. 98.165.163.172 (talk) 01:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
- Because that's how it's done in American sports, soccer included. I was just talking to another user about this, and it had been decided that the American soccer articles will be done in the American fashion, which is having the Away team listed first. There's a better explanation on my userpage, with a link to the tumultuous 4-day debate I took part in that resulted in this. --Otav347 (talk) 03:19, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Prize Money?
[edit]Does anyone know how prize money is given out this year? The 2007 article has a small section on prize money. There was mention in a USOpenCup.com article that Crystal Palace Baltimore won $10,000 for being the best USL-2 team in the tournament and that there would also be a prize for the best USL-1 team. There was no mention of prize money to the best PDL or USASA sides.

- Huh, hadn't heard anything myself. Obviously, if you find something, put it in the article. -- Grant.Alpaugh 21:54, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well before I add it, I would prefer if we knew if there was a prize for being the best PDL or USASA team since it was last year, as well as money for the winner and runner up. Greecepwns (talk) 23:31, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
Here's the official prize money awarded:
- $100,000 to the winner
- $50,000 to the runner-up
- $10,000 to the best USL-1 team* (Charleston/Seattle winner)
- $10,000 to the best USL-2 team (Crystal Palace Baltimore)
- $10,000 to the best amateur team (PDL & USASA) (Hollywood United F.C.)
*The $10,000 prize given to the best USL-1 team will not be awarded this year due to the fact that a USL-1 team will receive a bigger prize for advancing to the final.
Here's the link from a U.S. soccer article containing the amounts. I know that if a lower-level side advances to the final, they forgo the lower amount. I remember reading that somewhere, but if I find it, I'll post it. --Otav347 (talk) 03:12, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
