Newspaper or encyclopaedia?

[edit]

The section "Analysis of Party Performances" looks more like a newspaper article than an encyclopaedia entry to me. Personally I'm not with Berlusconi, but the above mentioned section tries to describe the future of this government, the very day after the election day.... :-/ A sentence like "Toward the end of his term he will also be faced with likely rebellion over his anointed successor Gianfranco Fini, [...]" seems a bit too much to me for an encyclopaedia entry. The Christian Democrats are grouped into the UDC party, which is not allied with Mr. Berlusconi's coalition, thus their "state-supporting" positions can't be a reason of disagreemnt within such coalition. What about potential delaying of elections?

It's impossible with italian laws were only news "fesserie". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.57.155.47 (talk) 11:02, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone put reference for those arriving results?

Double template

[edit]

For some reason, there are TWO forthcoming election templates at the top, and I cant seem to see why in the code. Perhaps its Internet Explorer and not the code... DA PIE EATER (talk) 21:30, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apprently one of the following tags also has the forthocoming election tag; I just removed the one in the article, and now we just have the one. Jon (talk) 21:52, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Results currently listed

[edit]

I don't think they are correct. They are in contradiction with the results of the interior ministry!. C mon (talk) 07:23, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Veltroni and the introduction template

[edit]

Why does it compare his coalition with statistics of the 2006 elections? that was Romano Prodi's coalition. they may be both of centre-left tendencies, but that doesn't mean they are the same. Veltroni's PD is a new party, and there is only one party (Italia dei Valori) in his coalition that was in Prodi's coalition as well. Udonknome (talk) 15:07, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chamber and Senate Images

[edit]

Consider to add in the article the following images.

Distribution of party in the Italian Chamber of Deputies
Distribution of party in the Italian Senate
Do we have any images showing the previous distribution, prior to the collapse of the previous government? Might make for a neat comparison between the parties. --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 00:10, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe to emphasize results of Italians abroad somehow??

[edit]

--Čikić Dragan (talk) 17:19, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent thought: I'd be curious to see how my vote fared with others in the USA or even with other countries. Actually, what would really be neat is if they tracked whether the voters abroad are expats born & raised in Italy or if they've inherited citizenship; and how that differs between each other, each country, and the regioni in Italy. Alas, I don't think that the info is quite that detailed, although from the past couple elections: I wouldn't surprised if some of the parties started trying to gauge that very data. I did a quick skim of Google, ANSA, e Repubblica and have come up a bit empty-handed. --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 00:46, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Although this detailed informations you suggest can be interesting to some people, I thought to simple emphasize how many seats in parliament reserved to Italians abroad belong to each party. I saw somewhere that in lower house 6 seats belong to Berlusconi alliance, and 5 to Veltroni one. I don't know to whom belong one other seat. I'm not sure of this informations.
Greetings!

I would also like to see this kind of information but yes I don’t think it would be that detailed either.--DavidD4scnrt (talk) 05:36, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is this real?

[edit]

My friend told me it might not be happening. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.80.240.66 (talk) 17:27, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No it's true. European politics is interesting once again. Whether Italy will survive a second Berlusconi term is less certain. Or indeed the EU.>>Xenovatis (talk) 20:52, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent point -- hopefully we won't have to find ourselves this autumn trying to figure out how to rename this article to conform with a second 2008 election! --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 00:11, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You mean third term??? Why are we italians such idiots to still want this stupid corrupt dictator/midget guy walking around and proving for 5 more years that all he wants to do is make his own laws? Udonknome (talk) 01:41, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Let me remind you Wikipedia is not a discussion forum. --Angelo (talk) 07:52, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

results are wrong

[edit]

that reported aren't all italy results, or give just specification like italian page or som all italian regions, like a previous version --87.3.197.195 (talk) 14:41, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i repeat the table give a bad info, this is not full italy results--87.6.239.221 (talk) 00:29, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I believe the results are correct. If you have proof that data is incorrect or missing (and I mean proof, as per WP:SOURCE), then go and correct them yourself. If not, you can try to explain yourself so that we can understand in which sense they are wrong, or go compain to the WP:CABAL. In any case, please stop posting strange childish rants. Habbit (talk) 17:32, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've uploaded the svg diagrams that I created in response to the request on WP:GL/I. My count of the "other parties" for the Senate diagram is 4 according to the table. Please explain why that's wrong if I'm misunderstanding! --Slashme (talk) 21:05, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My Edits to "Change" Stats in Results

[edit]

Just wanted to explain my recent edits to the "change" stats. I noticed that the previous stats counted 2006 results for the UdC and SA parties twice -- both as part of their former coalitions and as separate parties. My edits were guided by the principle that the 2006 results for the two main coalitions should be based on the parties that are currently in those coalitions.

I also recalculated "change" stats for the Socialist Party. The old Rose in the Fist party presented a challenge, because it was a coalition that ran as a single list, and the constituent parties are now split between the PD and PS. It would be possible to disaggregate the seat results, but not the percentages. However, the Rose in the Fist was dominated by the SDI and independent socialists (who got two-thirds of the seats), and their use of the rose iconography suggests their appeal was primarily to socialist voters. So I feel justified counting them as a precursor of the PS. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 163.231.6.67 (talk) 15:15, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

[edit]

Oh, come on, be serious, is that really tha only picture of Daniela Santanché you have?--87.14.135.9 (talk) 11:00, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removed. The picture is uploaded on Commons under claim of self-made licensing, which is obviously false. --Angelo (talk) 11:25, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
