Article size
[edit]This aricle is sigificantly too large. When I started editing it, it was already 43kb and is now 49kb. I suggest that we try to split the article up. Perhaps a separate page or two for the results could be created. I know there are a significant number of results not included already on the page, so I'd think two separate pages for the results tables may be necessary. I'd suggest we leave everything before the start of the results and after on this page. If anyone has any objections please say, otherwise I will begin to split the artilce up in a few days.Evil Eye 08:42, 7 August 2005 (UTC)
I suggest getting rid of the images. The 94 games does it well, with the box of nations. I have added the Games box which I hope to add to every Commonwealth Games page, but it has expanded the whole width of the page, I dont know why. --Crazycrazyduck 21:40, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Please make this page conform with the new standards as set out in the 2006 games format, sticking as closely as possible to the headings, and sub headings, where possible.
Gives it uniformity across the board, and hoepfully will follow on to other Cth Games articles Domza 06:22, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Manchester CW Games logo.gif
[edit]Image:Manchester CW Games logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:35, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Lists
[edit]Right now we have a long list of competing countries, and a medal table. This breaks up flow and includes a certain level of repetition. I think it might be better to split these off into a separate article (List of competing nations at the 2002 Commonwealth Games?). I'm thinking of something like the featured list 1976 Summer Olympics medal count, but including those countries without medals, and adding a column for "number of athletes". - Sounds like a good idea. I'm also a bit concerned about all the red links in the list of Participating Countries too. It looks as if somone had the idea of creating a stub for every country but got fed up with the idea after creating a few. Richerman (talk) 22:00, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
