Hello, I am planning on reviewing this article for GA Status, over the next couple of days. Thank you for nominating the article for GA status. I hope I will learn some new information, and that my feedback is helpful.
If nominators or editors could refrain from updating the particular section that I am updating until it is complete, I would appreciate it to remove a edit conflict. Please address concerns in the section that has been completed above (If I've raised concerns up to references, feel free to comment on things like the lede.)
I generally provide an overview of things I read through the article on a first glance. Then do a thorough sweep of the article after the feedback is addressed. After this, I will present the pass/failure. I may use strikethrough tags when concerns are met. Even if something is obvious why my concern is met, please leave a message as courtesy.
Best of luck! you can also use the {{done}} tag to state when something is addressed. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs)
Please let me know after the review is done, if you were happy with the review! Obviously this is regarding the article's quality, however, I want to be happy and civil to all, so let me know if I have done a good job, regardless of the article's outcome.

[edit]Lede
[edit]- and the next event following the previous season's World Snooker Championship in May. - I'd rather we just said the first tournament of the season. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:12, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Lede should cover a bit more about how the eight players were chosen Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:12, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- The lede should cover the drugs aspect, as we have a section on it. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:12, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- I generally include the prize money into the lede. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:12, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
General
[edit]- Prize money should probably live with the rules section. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:21, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- The tournament was created as the Charity Challenge in 1995 - perhaps "first played as", as this tournament wasn't the 1995 Charity Challenge. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:21, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

- The opening match of the tournament saw Mark Williams, the world champion—recovering from a left thumb injury after being bitten several times by his pet rottweiler at his Cwm home[5]—go up against Ireland's Ken Doherty - this could probably be two sentences Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:21, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

- Williams would win the match easily on a snookered brown ball in the seventh frame. However, Williams missed the brown bal - this reads like Higgins was snookered... But not? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:21, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Complicated legal and scientific arguments forced the postponement of the injury until 7 January 2001. - injury? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 21:21, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
