[edit]

Was this the year the NSWRL first used Tina Turner to promote the Winfield Cup? If so I think that should be included in this page.--Jeff79 07:53, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

no it was the 4th year for Tina. This time using the version of the track she recorded with Jimmy Barnes in 1991. I'll do a paragraph Sticks66 06:56, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Nswrl 1988.jpg

[edit]

Image:Nswrl 1988.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:27, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redlinked Dragons

[edit]

Unless anyone intends to write articles on the semi-notable 1992 Dragons players in the GF line up then I might delink them, rather than have a list full of redlinks. Anyone care ??-Sticks66

I don't care either way. It'd be a shame for the players' articles to exist later without this page linking to it though. Also, sometims when I'm deciding whether to start a player's article I'll click a redlink of his then see what links to it. If there's alot, it'll encourage me to create it (sometimes just based on the information in those articles linking to him). That's why I'm not proactive about changing redlinks. But I'm easy either way.--Jeff79 06:12, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Neil Tierney

[edit]

I can't figure out if Neil Tierney did or did not play in this year's Grand Final. According to this site and this site he did not, in which case the article needs to be changed. But according to this site he did. I don't know which one to believe, so if anyone has another source it'd be really helpful.--Jeff79 (talk) 12:59, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll look up Hadden's Grand Finals and revert. -Sticks66 13:38, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's a weird one. According to Whiticker's 100 Years, Tierney was in the team, but in the 1995 & 2006 Player's Encyclopedia he makes the comment that "Tierney could not break into either of St. George's grand final teams of 1992-93." Florrieleave a note 16:19, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I daresay there was a scheduled grand final team, and then the team that actually ran onto the field and played. On the St. George website above there's a photo of the "1993 Gand Final Team" which has Tierney in it. Whether he was in the final 17 on match day is another question (and the one we're concerned about with this article). A video would be the best thing.--Jeff79 (talk) 16:21, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've been through my box of magazines and while I have the 1992 Big League Annual, do you think they list the teams for the grand final? No, why would they do that? Just a match report! Florrieleave a note 17:18, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've just received David Middleton's 1992-93 annual today and I found a mention of Tierney in the grand final write-up: ...and Cann stepped past Saints' prop Neil Tierney to score his second try just five minutes later. Florrieleave a note 08:54, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Haha, the plot thickens... Well that's good enough for me. I suppose he did play in one of them. Perhaps just not run-on.--Jeff79 (talk) 08:57, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Dunno - he's listed at prop in the match report teams list. ??? Florrieleave a note 10:05, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
