Lead
[edit]- Are the heart attacks relevant to the earthquake?
🍗TheNuggeteer🍗
00:49, 14 September 2024 (UTC)- Under Impact header, the NGDC source attributed these heart attack deaths to the earthquake. Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 04:47, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hmm, weird, but I'll accept that.

Geology
[edit]- You need to add a bit of information about Hiroo Kanamori in the article.
- The source does not mention the 1993 earthquake.
🍗TheNuggeteer🍗
00:49, 14 September 2024 (UTC)- Read the source again, the 1993 event appears several times in the paper.
- Can you specify what information about Kanamori is required? Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 04:46, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
- Like a tiny description, "Japanese meteorologist" or something like that.

Earthquake
[edit]- The source does not mention the earthquake size and depth.

00:49, 14 September 2024 (UTC)- You need to download the ISC-GEM catalog to access this. It's in a csv file. Otherwise the USGS Technical page has the same information under the ISC catalog Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 04:42, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
- Will accept that.

Prose and content
[edit]present-day Tajikistan
specify in present day Tajikistan to avoid implying the USSR is synonymous- link Mercalli intensity
Nearly 80,000 homes were damaged and thousands more were destroyed in Pakistan
Silly to imply a building that was destroyed wasn't damaged; "more than 80,000 home were damaged, including thousands in Pakistan" etc.Landslides also wiped
these are not included in the damage statistics? Also implies in addition to the figures of damage/destroyedTheir high frequency have been
→ was
the reader isn't going to think it's exactly 78km.some78 kmwas recorded
wereattributed higher figures with the area's remoteness
could you explain this? They were overestimated because the remoteness wasn't considered? Also, with the area's remoteness should be changed to "to the area's remoteness"and 5,302 cattle were killed
active voiceNinety percent of kutcha homes were damaged
gloss kutchagovernments
Implied by plural, elaborated in following sentencefrom multiple countries

Sources
[edit]- [1]
- [3] The source announces "some 77 km" but the article says "some 78 km"
- [5a]
- [5c] should be clarified that the deaths were reported as "unconfirmed" and possibly that it was reported immediately after, so it doesn't seem like they were exaggerating
- [5e]
- [5g] although source spells it Kucha
- [7]
- [9] it's a significant omission that the local authorities were acting and communicating with each other
Other
[edit]- Stable
- Images appropriately tagged
- No COPYVIO / OR Earwig down for me
- Broad / summary style
- Neutral
