Notes and Credit
[edit]This page was created to fill in the main gap in the Oceania Club Championships template. Credit must go to Markus Kobler and Andre Zlotkowski, with additional info from Andrew Howe, who originally amassed the information on this site. Blackmissionary 00:52, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
Qualifying Tournament
[edit]I've re-added the qualifying tournament into this page. My reasoning for this is twofold. The first reason is that it is only speculated that these matches never took place, and the source seems to stem from an internet forum. Subsequently, my second reason is that the OFC's own websites lists the third and fourth placed teams, and these both build the case that these matches did take place, as their website mirrors the original text from the RSSSF's page, prior to their edit (which was only editted due to someone linking them to the forum where the lack of information was speculated to mean this never took place).
I do believe that the OFC is a far more trustworthy source, seeing as it is their own website's word, against the speculative word of people on an internet forum. J man708 (talk) 05:31, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Was this more than the final?
[edit]I just found a full video of the second half of the final on youtube. There are some hints maybe:
At 34:58 - "wellington themselves were involved in a final on friday night which was quite a bruising affair in fact patterson their coach couldn't name their team until just before the kickoff because they flew here on saturday with a few injuries from that friday night encounter final incidentally they won by three goals to nil"
Comment : So Wellington played two days before the final some match (not in Australia) and won 3-0. This could not have been the semi-final which is mentioned here. With the timeframe of 6-15 March it's strange, how the semi-final would have fit in.
At 50:17: "adelaide city team the team who last year became the australian champions and their second trophy now within seven days they won the import cup on wednesday night here in adelaide beat in adelaide hellish 2-1"
Comment : So Adelaide played a week before some other final. Strange, but maybe possible. -Koppapa (talk) 21:23, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Koppapa: decoding the commentary, they played Adelaide Hellas in the Ampol Cup, which was a state-based knockout cup. Hack (talk) 14:13, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
