Statistics on Blizzard
[edit]I added a few statistics I found on the blizzard and also added a few sources. The statistics go more into detail on the numbers behind the blizzard, several were records for the time. I also altered on of the statements that claimed it was the second worst blizzard of Chicago since several of the sources I looked at had differing opinions on it.
I rearranged some sentences in order for the article to flow better and changed some things that were plagiarized. I also fixed some grammatical and spelling errors and added the "After the Storm" heading. Maggieelize (talk) 00:58, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
I added a study on weather patterns during the time period and a state of Illinois report on the 78-79 winter. While doing so, I could not confirm any of the information in the first paragraph from the source cited, so I rewrote it with largely the same information, but with new sources in addition to adding more details about the blizzard. I added a few places where citations are necessary to confirm information which seems facially correct from non-academic sources. I cleaned up (grammatically) the second half of the second paragraph, removed extraneous information, and added what ultimately happened in the mayoral race as a result of the blizzard.
