Going to take a look. Comments will come soon. MWright96 (talk) 09:02, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (reference section): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free content have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
Pre-race coverage
  • I think it's not necessary to establish who William Bonifice for a second time in this sub-section
Event details
  • May I ask exactly which radio station(s) aired the race?
  • Use the convert template for the weight of the horses from pounds to kilograms
  • "After expecting close to 70,000," - I think you want to clarify that this was the number of spectators expected to attend the race
  • "This became the second-most attended Belmont Stakes," - Needs a mention that it was the second-most attended Belmont Stakes at the time
Race summary
  • Out of the gates should be reworded to "Out of the starting gate". Also same issue in the lede
Results
  • Laffit Pincay, Jr. doesn't need a comma per MOS:JR
Analysis
  • Clarify who exactly Neil Milbert is/was
  • The comma in Angel Cordero, Jr is not needed
  • "of the greatest race horses all-time." - "of the greatest race horses of all-time"
  • "before entering few more competitions" - missing "a" inbetween "entering" and "few"
References
  • Reference 18 is a bare url
  • You are inconsistent in the use of author= parameter in the references that contain them, for example, refs 14 and 15 use first= and last= when the remainder of the citations do not. Please correct this.

Kudos to you for writing an article on the Belmont Stakes. On hold until the issues have been addressed. MWright96 (talk) 18:48, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@MWright96:Apologize for the late response, been very busy with school and forgot about this. However, I have fixed all the outstanding issues aside from the radio station one which I was unable to find the exact answer for what stations did carry it, other than just it being on the radio. @Disc Wheel: Thank you for making the changes. I can't spot anything else that needs doing, so this article can now be promoted to GA. MWright96 (talk) 07:18, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
