Untitled

I added Some text and citations to April of 1969 in the Vietnam war. When I saw this there was very little information on the month and hoped to add more to it. Please check it out to see if there are any errors or wrong information. Feedback is very appreciated!Gfp001 (talk) 17:18, 4 May 2018 (UTC) I again added some text to the Battle of Hamburger Hill and added information about the number of casualties on both sides along with a citation. April

In the 'April' section there are a number of misleading syntactical and factual errors.

'Tensions and casualties start escalating months after the Vietnam War begins both in Vietnam and back home in the United States.'

Sentence implies that the war began in 1969 and that the war also took place on American soil.

'In the beginning of April a massive group of Harvard students took their angers to the school, trying to overthrow officials all while physically taking out multiple deans and eventually locked themselves in to revolt against the Vietnam War.'

Sentence lacks clarity and awkward phrasing is misleading and/or inaccurate. 'Took angers to the school' is poorly phrased.'Physically taking out deans'? It sounds like a gang fight. 'Locked themselves in'? In where? 'Revolt' is too strong a word to use in this context.

'Meanwhile, over in Vietnam the war starts to escalate and over 30,000 Americans are wounded or killed by North Vietnamese troops.'

The above is repetitive and inaccurate. The war did not 'start to escalate.' It had escalated years earlier. 30,000 American servicemen weren't killed in April, or in 1969. That number instead roughly reflects total combat deaths to that point.

Frankly, the entire paragraph needs to be completely revised, as do a number of others in the entry. RobotBoy66 (talk) 11:57, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
