Change of name
[edit]The recent name change does not make sense. The earthquake is known in all sources as the "1894 Istanbul earthquake" - generally on google [1], on Google Books [2] and finally on Google Scholar [3]. Compare this with "1894 Constantinople earthquake" google [4], books [5] & scholar [6], which together give only this wikipedia article. Mikenorton (talk) 18:25, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
- You're right. I fixed this by reverting the move and other changes. If the original editor wants to discuss the change, this talk page is available. Rupert Clayton (talk) 05:26, 2 July 2016 (UTC)

- Support per MOS:CAPS, WP:NCCAPS. This habitual insistence on Capitalizing Anything That Seems Important is amateurish and PoV-pushing. — SMcCandlish ☺ ☏ ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ᴥⱷʌ≼ 19:51, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
- Support and I will make this change I mistakenly gave 'earthquake' an initial cap in the title when reverting a change by an editor who unilaterally renamed the article to 1894 Constantinople earthquake (see above). No need for this to be capped as it is no kind of proper name. Rupert Clayton (talk) 04:50, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- And of course I can't make that change because we already have a redirect page with that name. Here's hoping some admin will implement consensus soon... Rupert Clayton (talk) 04:55, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
