Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because patristica is simply providing an already existing document, it is not as if the site wrote the document themselves. --IX1922 (talk) 04:14, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've referred this for further investigation. The document was originally in Greek. Translations of material have their own copyright. The given source provides no information about the provenance of the translation. If this translation is before 1929, then it is likely public domain, but a later translation may still be under copyright. On a side note, this sort of full text really belongs on Wikisource and not in the encyclopedia article itself. The article should be explaining the context of why this text is important or significant. -- Whpq (talk) 15:15, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay - is it fine if I keep the translation removed and find a new one? IX1922 (talk) 17:56, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I plan on adding much more information, for example on its impact on the Eastern/Oriental Orthodox christological dispute. If I were to find a translation I would make sure it is pre 1929 IX1922 (talk) 20:40, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
