IPA symbols
[edit]the IPA symbols for "ecole" and "art" are wrong
the "o" is a more open vowel whereas the "a" is a front vowel, can somebody change it?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.64.35.38 (talk • contribs)
"Achitecture"
[edit]Is architecture spelled incorrectly after all of the alumni on purpose? I was going to fix it and then maybe figured I'm just clueless. —Cleared as filed. 04:25, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Notable instructors and alumni
[edit]Notable people are listed both here and at the article for École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts. They should go on one or the other, not both. tktktk 00:12, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
Status: notability?
[edit]Does it make sense to limit new additions to this list? Is it appropriate at this stage of the article's development to initiate a standard limiting names on this select list to
- (a) those who already have Wikipedia articles
- and
- (b) those who are notable for something other than having depicted war in art -- see, e.g., US Navy Cross edit history?
In a context informed by practices which seem to have worked out well at Navy Cross, all new additions who aren't already featured in an article could be re-redirected to this talk page section with the following edit history explanation:
- artist must be known for something other than studying at this art school -- see "Status: Notability" on talk page
The redlinks of those who do not have an article yet are listed below:

- Notes
- ^ Abraham Pincas, pincas.net
- ^ Note: Henri Deglane was a boxer born in 1902, see fr:Henri Deglane for the architect
When any of the above-listed redlink names turn blue, we will know that transferring these names to the talk page was a worthwhile exercise. If none turn blue, then we can deduce something about the notability of these artists. --Tenmei (talk) 18:23, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
Duplicate. Merge?
[edit]I am feeling this out before adding tag to suggest a merge. I see two articles that appear to be for the same thing; one links to an equivalent article on the French Wikipedia, the other links to a disambiguation page on the French Wikipedia. Can anyone tell me why there are two pages. Are they the same? Am I missing something. Beaux-Arts de Paris École des Beaux-Arts Jacqke (talk) 01:53, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
- I see that École des Beaux-Arts is supposed to cover more than the Paris school, but really doesn't...Jacqke (talk) 01:58, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
