Population

[edit]

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the population (as the total of its constituent villages before their merger) was 8,332 in 1,515 households, when it was in Kut-e Abdollah Rural District of the Central District of Ahvaz County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,515 people in 8,597 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population as 8,429 people in 2,366 households,[2] by which time the rural district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Karun County and the rural district transferred to the new Central District.[7]

After the census, the villages of Abu Dabis, Amireh, Jongiyeh, and Kuy-e Vali Aser were merged to form the new city of Rabi.[3][4]
