Mahalo ā nui loa! Maikaʻi loa

Aloha kākou! I want to send a warm mahalo to all who contributed to this portal and helped it acheive it's featured portal status. I recently created the Hawaiʻi Portal and I used this portal as a guide. I didn't know the first thing about creating portals and in my opinion, I did a pretty good job getting the Hawaiʻi portal started. I do not want to forget to mention that I had help from two other individuals, Viriditas and Krindog. Again, mahalo ā nui loa for the inspiration. Thanks for the compliment and good luck with the portal. — Zaui (talk) 22:42, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notice from the Portals WikiProject

WikiProject Portals is back!

The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.

As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.

There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.

Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.

And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.

From your friendly neighborhood Portals WikiProject. Hope to see you there. Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   07:49, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Article selection criteria

The following information has been copied here from Portal:Utah/Selected article. The portal has been updated using Template:Transclude random excerpt, which provides readers with current, up-to-date information that is verbatim to that in articles. A consensus approving the usage of transclusion templates in portals was formed at this Village Pump discussion. As such, articles are now listed directly on the main portal page. • The list should only contain articles that have been given a quality rating of "B" class, or higher.
    • All summaries should have an accompanying free-use image that is relevant to the selected article.
  1. The summary for all selected articles should be approximately 10 lines, for appropriate formatting in the portal main page.

A new, separate Recognized content section has been added to the portal, as a part of the portal's updating.
