- 2007 - Tropical Storm Barbara (pictured) starts weakening as it was reported that it had damages a total of US$55 million and killed 4 people.
- 2024 - The Central Pacific and Atlantic hurricane seasons officially begin.
June 2,
- 2003 - Severe Tropical Storm Nangka reached its peak intensity to the south of Taiwan.
- 2007 - As a rapidly weakening storm, Tropical Depression Barry (pictured) makes landfall over in Florida before transitioning into an extratropical cyclone. Barry only killed three people in its path with damages of only $118 thousand.
June 3,
- 1982 - Tropical Storm 02B made landfall in India near Paradip, killing 140 people and destroying half a million homes.
- 2010 - Cyclone Phet struck eastern Oman, dropping heavy rainfall across normally arid areas; the storm killed 47 people and left US$861 million in damage.
- 2014 - Tropical Storm Boris makes landfall over in Southwestern Mexico as a weak system, killing a total of six people and US$46.8 million worth of damages.
June 4
- 2006 - Cyclone Gonu (pictured) became the strongest tropical cyclone on record in the Arabian Sea, with 3-minute winds of 155 km/h (100 mph); two days later, Gonu struck the Arabian Peninsula, killing 49 people and causing about $4 billion of damage.
- 2012 - Typhoon Mawar reaches peak intensity as a Category 3 typhoon.
- 2014 - Tropical Storm Boris makes landfall over Southwestern Mexico and kills 6 people with US$46.8 million in damages.
June 5
- 1890 - A cyclone struck northeastern Oman, killing 727 people from its floods.
- 2001 - Tropical Storm Allison (pictured) formed over the northern Gulf of Mexico and made landfall in Southeast Texas. Allison caused record levels of rainfall along much of its path, with the resulting flooding killing 41 people and causing US$5.5 billion of damage, making Allison the costliest tropical storm on record.
- 2003 - Cyclone Epi developed east of Papua New Guinea.
June 6
- 1994 - Tropical Storm Russ moved across Hainan Island and southern China, killing 72 people and leaving US$727.5&bsp;million in damage.
- 1999 - Typhoon Maggie made landfall in China, and along its path the storm killed nine people.
- 2012 - Tropical Storm Kuena (pictured) became a rare June tropical storm in the South-West Indian Ocean.
June 7,
- 1973 - Hurricane Ava reached its peak intensity as a Category 5 hurricane, becoming the only Pacific hurricane to attain that intensity in the month of June.
- 2003 - Cyclone Gina (pictured) reaches its peak intensity as a Category 3 severe tropical cyclone after affecting the Solomon Islands with only minimal damages.
June 8
- 1960 - Typhoon Mary struck Hong Kong, killing 1,649 people across southeastern China.
- 1966 - Hurricane Alma made landfall in western Cuba causing severe flooding. The storm killed a total of 90 people and caused over $200 million of damage.
June 9
- 1934 - A hurricane struck what is now Belize after looping across Central America. The storm killed at least 516 people along its path.
- 1989 - Typhoon Dot (track pictured) reached peak strength as a Category 3 while nearing landfall over in Hainan, causing 8 deaths and CN¥170 million (US$45.1 million) of damages.
- 1998 - A cyclone struck the Indian state of Gujarat, killing at least 4,000 people.
June 10
- 1974 - Typhoon Dinah made landfall on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. Dinah killed 73 people in the Philippines, Hainan and Vietnam.
- 1991 - Cyclone Gritelle (pictured) became a named system, making it the strongest system within the south-west Indian Ocean to form in the month of June, as well as the latest in the cyclone year to be properly named.
June 11
- 1996 - A tropical cyclone (pictured) struck Oman and produced widespread flooding across the Arabian Peninsula, killing 341 people and leaving US$1.2 billion in damage.
June 12,
- 1997 - Cyclone Keli, the first post-season tropical cyclone to form in June, reaches peak strength while affecting the Pacific Islands.
- 2004 - Tropical Storm Chanthu (pictured) made landfall in Vietnam, killing seven people. Chanthu caused over 230 mm (9.4 in) of rain.
- 2014 - Hurricane Cristina reaches peak intensity as a Category 4 major hurricane.
June 13,
- 1977 - The 1977 Oman cyclone makes landfall over in eastern Oman killing 105 people in total.
- 2006 - Tropical Storm Alberto made landfall on the Florida Panhandle as a strong tropical storm. Alberto brought heavy rain to the southeastern United States, causing about $500,000 in damage.
- 2015 - Hurricane Carlos (pictured) reaches its peak strength off the coast of Southwestern Mexico, causing about $1 million in damages.
June 14,
- 1904 - The first storm of the 1904 Atlantic hurricane season made landfall in eastern Cuba, killing at least 87 people.
- 1991 - Typhoon Yunya (pictured) reaches Category 3 typhoon intensity prior to making landfall in Luzon in the Philippines the same day as Mount Pinatubo made its largest eruption. The rainfall from the typhoon mixed with the volcanic ash, causing severe lahars.
June 15,
- 2014 - Tropical Storm Hagibis (pictured) makes landfall over in southern China killing 11 people with damages totaled up to CN¥815 million (US$131 million).
June 16,
- 2004 - Typhoon Dianmu reached its peak intensity with a central pressure of 915 hPa (mbar) to the south of Japan. Dianmu killed three people a few days later there.
- 2012 - Hurricane Carlotta makes landfall over in southern Mexico. Damages were recorded at about $12.4 million.
- 2015 - Tropical Storm Bill (pictured) forms southeast of Texas before rapidly making landfall.
June 17,
- 1971 - Hurricane Bridget passed just to the south of Acapulco, Mexico bringing gusts of 100 mph (155 km/h) to the city. Many ships, including some naval ships, were sunk killing 40 people and causing $40 million of damage.
- 2012 - Typhoon Guchol (pictured) attains Category 4 super typhoon intensity with a minimum pressure of 930 hPa with 1-minute sustained winds of 240 km/h (150 mph).
June 18,
- 1965 - Typhoon Dinah made landfall in Taiwan with winds of 220 km/h (140 mph). Dinah killed a total of 45 people and destroyed 5,000 homes.
- 1982 - The 1982 Florida subtropical storm (track pictured) affects Florida. Damages were recorded at $10 million.
- 2003 - Tropical Storm Blanca reaches maximum intensity with winds of 95 km/h (60 mph) and a minimum pressure of 997 hPa.
June 19,
- 1959 - Hurricane Three, which caused the 1959 Escuminac disaster, looped in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, sinking 22 of 54 fishing boats from Escuminac, New Brunswick. The storm killed a total of 35 people.
- 1993 - Tropical Storm Arlene (pictured) reaches tropical storm intensity prior to making landfall on Padre Island, Texas. Arlene killed a total of 29 people and caused about $55 million of damage, with most of the deaths occurring while it was a tropical wave.
June 20,
- 2009 - Tropical Storm Linfa reaches peak intensity as a severe tropical storm. Linfa caused damages of about $105 million, mostly from eastern China and Taiwan.
- 2013 - Tropical Storm Barry (pictured) makes landfall over in Veracruz, Mexico, killing only five people in total.
June 21
- 1989 - Hurricane Cosme made landfall over in southern Mexico as a category 1 hurricane killing a total of 30 people.
- 2008 - Typhoon Fengshen (pictured) reached its peak intensity of 200 km/h (125 mph) while moving through the Philippines. Fengshen killed more than 1,300 people mostly from the capsizing of the MV Princess of the Stars.
June 22,
- 1972 - Hurricane Agnes made landfall near New York City. Agnes killed 129 people and caused over $2 billion of damage throughout the eastern United States, with the worst of the damage in the states of Pennsylvania and New York.
- 2015 - Tropical Storm Kujira (pictured) reaches tropical storm intensity before making landfall in southern China. Kujira killed nine people and damaged ¥88 million (US$14.4 million).
June 23,
- 1991 - Hurricane Carlos reaches Category 3 major hurricane intensity over in the East Pacific.
- 2001 - Typhoon Chebi made landfall near Fuzhou, China. Chebi killed 82 people and caused over $440 million of damage in mainland China and Taiwan.
- 2015 - The 2015 Gujarat cyclone (pictured) made landfall over in Gujarat, India, causing about $258 million in damages and killing at least 80 people as a weak system.
June 24,
- 1985 - Typhoon Hal moves onshore Hong Kong as a weakening typhoon killing 53 people.
- 1993 - Typhoon Koryn reached its peak intensity with a central pressure of 910 hPa (mbar) in the Philippine Sea.
- 2010 - Hurricane Celia (pictured) reaches Category 5 hurricane intensity, making one of a few systems in the East Pacific to reach that intensity in the month of June.
June 25,
- 1972 - Typhoon Ora made landfall in Luzon in the Philippines killing 131 people.
- 2012 - Tropical Storm Debby (pictured) reaches peak intensity with winds of 100 km/h (65 mph) before it makes landfall over in Florida, killing seven people with damages worth of $250 million.
June 26,
- 1989 - Tropical Storm Allison hit Texas; associated flooding caused about $560 million of damage and 11 deaths.
- 2008 - Cyclone Yemyin (pictured) moved ashore southern Pakistan; heavy rainfall killed hundreds of people, including 730 people in Pakistan alone.
June 27,
- 1957 - Hurricane Audrey (pictured), the only Category 4 Atlantic hurricane to exist in the month of June, made landfall on the Gulf Coast of the United States. Audrey killed at least 390 people and caused over $150 million of damage.
- 2003 - Tropical Storm Carlos brushes the coast of Southwestern Mexico, causing about $8 million in damages.
- 2011 - Tropical Depression Meari makes landfall over in North Korea after killing a total of 11 people.
- June 28, 1966 - Typhoon Kit (track pictured) passed just to the east of Honshu, Japan killing at least 44 people.
- June 29, 2005 - Tropical Storm Bret (pictured) hit the Mexico coast near Tuxpan, Veracruz. Bret killed two people and caused about $9 million of damage.
- June 30, 2015 - Cyclone Raquel (pictured) enters the Australian basin and was recognized as the only known instance of a tropical cyclone during July in the region since the satellite era began and as a byproduct of becoming a tropical cyclone on the first day of the new cyclone year, it marked the earliest start to a season in the basin on record. The system subsequently became the first tropical cyclone in the South Pacific Ocean during the month of July since reliable records started as the storm exited the basin.
