- A Yemeni government soldier opens fire on Saudi troops in Seiyun, Yemen, killing two and injuring one other. Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and the Houthis are suspected to be the perpetrators of the attack, however no group claimed responsibility. (AP)
- 2024 Mozambican general election, Human rights in Mozambique
- Human Rights Watch reports that at least 34 people have been killed and at least 66 others have been injured in the past three weeks in police crackdowns of violent protests following the Mozambican presidential election. Mozambican police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at protesters in the capital city Maputo, with the Army later deployed to end the protests. (Al Jazeera) (DW)

- Pro-Palestinian locals attack supporters of Israeli football team Maccabi Tel Aviv F.C. after a match with AFC Ajax in Amsterdam, Netherlands, following instances of anti-Palestinian and anti-Arab chants and vandalism by Maccabi ultras. At least 30 people are injured, with five hospitalized, and 62 people are arrested. - Deforestation of the Amazon rainforest
- The Brazilian environment and climate change ministry reports that deforestation in the Amazon rainforest decreased by 30.6% compared to last year, the lowest level in nine years. - Ukraine–United States relations
- The United States lifts its ban on deploying military contractors to Ukraine, thereby enabling American companies to directly assist with the maintenance and repair of U.S.-made weapons, such as F-16 fighter aircraft and Patriot air defense systems. The U.S. says that its contractors will be positioned far from the front lines and will not engage in combat with Russian forces. (CNN)
