Left Democratic Front (LDF) has fielded sitting MP and veteran parliamentarian P. Karunakaran as the candidate in the Lok Sabha Elections 2014. T. Siddique was the United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate while K. Surendran was the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate.[2]
