P. D. N. K. Palihena is a Sri Lankan politician and academic who serves as a Member of Parliament for the Anuradhapura Electoral District. He was elected during the 2024 Sri Lankan parliamentary election, securing 52,507 preferential votes.[1] He is affiliated with the National People's Power (NPP) political coalition and is a national executive committee member of the party.

Early Life and Education

Palihena holds a B.Com. Special Degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, and an M.Com. from the University of Kelaniya.[2]

Academic Career

Palihena is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Management Studies, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka in Mihintale, which is located in the Anuradhapura District.[3] He has also served as the Director of the MBA program at the Department of Accountancy and Finance.

Political Career

In 2024, Palihena transitioned to politics and was elected to the 17th Parliament of Sri Lanka. His campaign focused on educational reform, sustainable economic development, and community empowerment. As a senior member of the NPP, he plays an active role in shaping the party's policies.
