Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates's diplomatic relations date to 2007.[1]
Details
[edit]The two countries enjoy economic trade of $1.61B a year.[2] Trade between the two has two top products, the UAE exports refined petroleum while Nigeria exports gold to the UAE.[2]
In July 2024, the UAE lifted the ban on visas for Nigerians.[3] In July 2024, the countries resumed flights after a two year break.[4] Emirates airline had stopped flights in 2022 because the Nigerians did not pay $137m in foreign exchange due to the Emirati airline.[4]
