Murt (Persian: مورت)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Arkavazi Rural District of the Central District of Chavar County, Ilam province, Iran.[4]

The village is populated by Kurds.[5]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 1,082 in 204 households, when it was in the former Chavar District of Ilam County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 1,200 people in 271 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 1,088 people in 284 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]

In November 2019, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Chavar County. The rural district was transferred to the new Central District.[8]
