Mughar (Persian: موغار)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Garmsir Rural District of Mahabad District, Ardestan County, Isfahan province, Iran.[4] The rural district was previously administered from the city of Mahabad.[5]
Demographics

[edit]At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 1,272 in 340 households, when it was in the Central District.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 1,071 people in 323 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 1,139 people in 385 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
In April of 2023, Garmsir and Hombarat Rural Districts, and the city of Mahabad, were separated from the district in the establishment of Mahabad District.[8]
