Liberal Alliance of Independent Citizens (LANO, Czech: Liberální aliance nezávislých občanů) is a social liberal Czech political party founded by activist Šimon Hlinovský.[1] The party is running in the 2024 European Parliament election in the Czech Republic.[2]

Ideology

Some of the party's declared goals include:[3]

  • Support for European integration
  • Bringing more women into politics
  • Enforcing the right to vote from the age of 15
  • Stopping coal mining, operating coal-fired power plants and replacing them with renewable sources
  • Protecting nature and the atmosphere
  • Strengthening the fight against smugglers of illegal migrants, terrorism and agents of the Russian Federation
  • Cooperation with NATO allies
  • The formation of a common European army
  • Supporting Ukraine and its admission to the EU and NATO
  • Advocating the incorporation of the Kaliningrad Oblast into the Czech Republic after the end of the war
  • Approval of same-sex marriage
  • Striving for equal rights regardless of sexual orientation, nationality or religion
