Kalkhuran Rural District (Persian: دهستان كلخوران) is in the Central District of Ardabil County,[3] Ardabil province, Iran. Its capital was the village of Kalkhuran Sheykh[4] until the village was absorbed by the city of Ardabil after the 2006 National Census.[5]

Population

At the time of the 2006 census, the rural district's population was 13,564 in 3,100 households.[6] There were 9,991 inhabitants in 2,662 households at the following census of 2011.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 10,048 in 2,978 households. The most populous of its 13 villages was Soltanabad, with 1,830 people.[2]
