Jean-Pierre Gosse

Jean-Pierre Gosse (May 14, 1924 – June 6, 2001) was a Belgian biologist and ichthyologist.[1]
Life and career
[edit]Gosse was a biologist with the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences.[2]
Gosse went on missions in South America with Leopold III of Belgium.[2]
Gosse described the following species:
- Cichlasoma lyonsi, 1966 (Amphilophus)[3]
- Geophagus wavrini, 1963 (Biotodoma)[3]
- Geophagus harreri, 1976 (Geophagus)[3][4]
- Pterophyllum leopoldi, 1963 (Pterophyllum)[3]
- Retroculus septentrionalis, 1971 (Retroculus)[3]
- Retroculus xinguensis, 1971 (Retroculus)[3]
