Construction and commissioning

[edit]

Zoubin was built by French Constructions Mécaniques de Normandie at Cherbourg, as one of the first six contracted on 19 February 1974.[2] Her keel was laid down on 4 April 1975 and on 14 April 1976, she was launched.[2] Falakhon was commissioned into the fleet on 12 September 1977.[2]

Service history

[edit]

During Iran-Iraq War, her home port was Kharg Naval Base.[3] She was one of the three vessels in her class, along with Paykan and Joshan that participated in Operation Morvarid against Iraqi Osa-class missile boats.[4]
