Attack

[edit]

On 15 October 2024, a gunman opened fire on a police car and other vehicles, near the Yavne Interchange.[4][1]

The attack resulted in the fatal wounding of First Sgt. Adir Kadosh, a 33-year-old police officer, who was later pronounced dead at Assuta Medical Center in Ashdod.[5] Another individual sustained minor to moderate injuries from glass shards when his vehicle was targeted. The attacker was subsequently neutralized and killed by an armed civilian passing by.[4]

The gunman was identified as a Palestinian from the northern Gaza Strip who had lived in Jabalia and in the West Bank in recent years.[6][7]
