Hainan Television (HNWTV) (Chinese: 海南电视台) is a television station in Hainan, China.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
It was established in August 1982, and began broadcasting on October 1, 1984.
The station has five studios, two of which are 1,000 m2 and 400 m2.[citation needed]
The station is currently in the process of digitizing its broadcast equipment, and plans to adopt nonlinear editing and digital compression technology for program transmission.[7]
In 2024, Hainan TV suspended a host for anti-Japanese remarks in response to the 2024 Noto earthquake.[8]

[edit]This comprehensive channel is accessible to 7.5 million viewers and reaches 85% of the province.[citation needed] It is also available to some parts of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Guangdong Province.[7] 1 time in 1990, the station was picked up in Tokyo Japan.[citation needed]

HNTV-3
[edit]This wired channel broadcasts general news and business information such as finance, stocks and real estate.[7]
Satellite channel
[edit]The satellite channel launched in 1999.[9][10] From 2002 to 2019, it was known as the Travel Channel with emphasis on tourism and leisure, the first of its kind in China.[11]
