Charleston Road Registry Inc.[1][2] (CRR[3]), doing business as Google Registry,[4] is a wholly owned subsidiary of Google LLC. It is the domain name registry that Google uses to handle its top-level domains (TLDs).

History

The company was founded on February 8, 2012.[1] The company was founded due to requirements by The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), stating that domain name registries and domain name registrars must be separate legal entities.[3][5]

As of October 2024, CRR owns 46 TLDs:[6]
