Contested deletion
[edit]This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because... (your reason here) --Rtm-2000 (talk) 10:48, 18 October 2024 (UTC) Because the page you are referring to is owned and run by Viveen Wray. It is her official artist page. www.viveen.info
- @Rtm-2000: precisely, they are owned by the subject, therefore we have no right to use them.
- Actually, that's not entirely correct. According to that website, the content is owned by Real Time Media Limited, whose copyright statement clearly forbids use without permission.
- Speaking of Real Time Media, I assume that's what the 'Rtm' in your user name refers to? I will post a message on your user talk page about paid editing, please read and respond to it at your earliest opportunity. Thank you. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:56, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
- Paid editing? FYI - The domain name is owned and belongs to Viveen Wray and the site is run by Real Time Media Limited. RTM is the manager of Viveen. I am correcting and adding in the proof sources. I will be re-writing the text in parts too. I have started this process. It says 12 weeks until it becomes live. So there is time. Reliable sources
[edit]On this page somebody has deemed Imdb an unreliable source. Its a major industry source of credits for TV, Film and Video - I see other pages quoting that source. Why is it deemed inappropriate for this page? The same goes for Discogs and Musicbrainz?
Also a citation is required for dob. Who has ever had their dob openly published in the public domain other than on Wiki? Rtm-2000 (talk) 02:56, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Rtm-2000: see WP:IMDB and WP:DISCOGS. User-generated content is not considered reliable. That includes MusicBrainz, although it hasn't been proscribed quite to the extent those other two have.
- As for DOB, supporting that with a reliable published source is a hard requirement, per WP:DOB. If someone hasn't had their DOB
"openly published in the public domain"
, then that is precisely the reason why we shouldn't publish it, either. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:42, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
