Vittorio Angelone is a Northern Irish stand-up comedian. His comedy routines have earned him several nominations, including Best Newcomer of the Year at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Early life
[edit]Angelone grew up in Belfast.[1].
Angelone is of Italian descent, on his father's side.[2].
His paternal grandparents emigrated to Northern Ireland, following World War Two.[3].
He started his stand-up career in 2018 whilst he was a student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.[4]
Career
[edit]In 2022, Angelone began a podcast, with fellow Irish Comedian, Mike Rice called "Mick & Vittorio's Guide to Parenting".[5] Their podcast, is so named, despite neither having kids, as a way to catch listeners' attention.[6]
In 2022, Angelone began touring his first special 'Translations', a show that delves into being Irish in England, prejudices that still remain today. It also references his Italian heritage and the preference for Comedy shows to need a 'sad section' [7]. His show translations was nominated for Best Newcomer of the Year at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival [7]
In 2024, Angelone began touring his new stand up show, 'Who Do You Think You Are: I AM!', a title derived from a bowler, Pete Weber.[8]
His show explores what makes him a whole person and how his identity shapes the person and comedian he has become today.[9]
In his show, Angelone also discusses that he is the process of finding out whether he's autistic,[8] a topic that is mentioned often in his podcast.[5]
