Vipin Reshammiya,[1][2] was an Indian music director[3], musician, producer, working in Hindi cinema. He is the father of musician and actor Himesh Reshammiya.[4]
Personal life
[edit]Vipin Damodardas Reshammiya[5] was born on 5th May 1940 in Bombay (Now Mumbai), into a Gujarati Family. his father was a manager in a company and his mother was a housewife. Reshammiya completed his bachelor's degree from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. he was quite notorious as a kid. His sister was concerned about his mischievous behavior, therefore sent him to a music school near his house to divert him.
Career
[edit]Reshammiya started his career as a musician in the film industry, working with various music directors such as Shankar Jaikishan, Laxmikant Pyarelal, R.D. Burman, Kalyanji Anandji and singers like Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar.[6] He was one of the first to introduce electronic keyboard instruments, such as the combo organ and the clavioline, in Indian film music. He played these instruments for over 3000 songs in various films, creating a distinctive sound and style.
