Tracxn Technologies Limited is a Bangalore based SaaS company providing global private markets information.[1] Tracxn is an online market intelligence platform to help venture capital, private equity, and corporate development firms track and analyze startups across various technology sectors.[2] Tracxn gathers data and tracks innovation across various industries while identifying upcoming sectors and interesting investable startups for its client portfolio that includes venture capital funds, private equity firms and corporate strategy teams from across the globe.[3] It is among the leading global market intelligence providers for private company data globally.[4][5]
History
[edit]Neha Singh and Abhishek Goyal incorporated Tracxn (pronounced 'traction') Technologies in 2013 and launched the B2B platform in 2015.[6]
Neha and Abhishek, former investors at Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners respectively, saw a strong need for a comprehensive database that could help investors and corporates identify promising startups for investment or partnership opportunities. As investors themselves, they wished they could spend less time on discovering companies and more time on analyzing markets and opportunities. Neha and Abhishek saw an opportunity to leverage technology to address this information gap, and launched Tracxn[7][8][9]
Tracxn is now a publicly listed company on NSE and BSE after getting listed on October 20, 2022.[4]
The anchor issue of Tracxn Technologies Ltd saw a robust response on 07th October 2022 with 45% of the IPO size getting absorbed by the anchors. Total 15 investors were participants in the company via anchor book, which included Nippon Life India, ICICI Prudential, India Acorn Fund, Ashoka India Equity Investment Trust Plc, White Oak Capital, Kotak MF, Abakkus Emerging Opportunities Fund, Reliance General Insurance Company, BNP Paribas Arbitrage, Tara Emerging Asia Liquid Fund, and Motilal Oswal Fund.[9]
Organization
[edit]Neha Singh is the Co-founder of Tracxn. Prior to Tracxn, Neha was an investor with the venture capital fund Sequoia Capital, investing in private markets. Before Sequoia Capital, she was a consultant at Boston Consulting Group. Neha holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Technology, with specializations in Computer Science and Engineering, from IIT Bombay where she was awarded the Institute Silver Medal. She pursued her post-graduate studies in MBA from the Stanford University (officially Leland Stanford Junior University) Graduate School of Business.[10][11][12]
Abhishek Goyal is the Co-founder of Tracxn. Abhishek began his career with technology firms Yahoo & Amazon and later, he was an investor at Accel Partners. At Accel Partners, Abhishek was a part of the deal team which wrote the first cheques to Flipkart (acquired by Walmart) and CommonFloor. He holds a Bachelor's degree specializing in Computer Science and Engineering, from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He was amongst the top 100 rankers in IIT JEE in the batch of 1998.[10] [11][12]

[edit]Tracxn has raised a total funding of $16.5M or ₹112.32 Cr over 6 rounds before their IPO in 2022.[13][14][15]
Some of the angle investors include Nandan Nilekani (former UIDAI chairman), Mohandas Pai (former Infosys CFO), WhatsApp's Neeraj Arora and Anand Rajaraman(Junglee Cofounder), Girish Mathrubootham(Freshdesk founder), Aneesh Reddy (Capillary founder), Ratan Tata (Chairman Emeritus, Tata Sons), Sachin and Binny Bansal (Flipkart's founders) and Sahil Barua (Delhivery cofounder).
In their private journey, they are also backed by likes of Sequoia Capital, SAIF Partners, Accel, KB Global and Prime Venture Partners.[16][3][17][13]
