Thomas James Beer (Born 21 May 2006) is a British-Italian actor. He is best known for his involvement in Amateur theatre productions as a member of Limelight Studios Norwich. He received recognition from NODA East in their June 2023 show report (written by Sarah Meers) for his performance as Hans in Limelight’s rendition of Frozen JR.[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Beer was born in Norwich on 21 May 2006, the son of a British mother and British-Italian father. He was educated at the state-funded, coeducational secondary school, Sprowston Community Academy, before continuing A-Level qualifications at their onsite Sixth Form.
After undertaking vocal tuition by classical singer Zaira Palumbo, completing both a range of LAMDA and LCM examinations, Beer is working towards completing his Level 5 Diploma of the London College of Music (ALCM) in Musical Theatre (RQF Level 5 / EQF Level 6), following completing his Level 4 (DipLCM) in June 2024.
As of July 2024, Beer has completed his A-Level qualifications in English Literature and Mathematics, as well as a BTEC Extended Certificate in Performance (Musical Theatre).
Career
[edit]His most recent Amateur production to date is Limelight’s May/June 2024 production of The Addams Family (musical), playing the role of Mal Beineke[2]. Beer was mentioned alongside his co-star, Lily Kerby, in the official NODA East show report (written by Susan Dupont), where they were defined as “another excellent couple”, and Kerby’s solo performance as “terrific”[3]
Aside from his involvement in unpaid, Amateur theatre productions as a member of various theatre companies in Norwich, Beer has also taken an interest in interactive theatre. As an example, he worked as a scare actor at East Anglia’s PrimEvil, an engaging, award-winning horror event.[4][5][6]
He continues to work towards a professional career in the industry and has officially joined the UK actors’ union, Equity UK, and is now a student member of the Independent Society of Musicians. Thomas Beer, his birth name, is also his registered professional name as part of the two.
