The Fall of Babylon is a 1919 American drama film, written and directed by D.W. Griffith.

Storyline

This is the story of Babylonia in 539 B.C ruled by Prince Belshazzar and King Nabonidus. A mountain girl is saved from the Marriage Market by Belshazzar and falls in love with him. High Priest of Bel sends a messenger to Cyrus, king of the Persia to destroy Babylonia. Mountain girl overhears the messenger to Cyrus and try to warn Belshazzar, but no one takes her seriously. The Persians set the palace on fire and Babylon falls.
