The Crosswoods Incident is a Roblox incident that happened in 2022. Roblox users found themselves banned after joining an experience called "Crosswoods [A.2]" on the platfrom.
How it Worked
[edit]There are many services that the game uses to filter out rule-breaking messages, most of which are automated programs, as they are the most cost-effective.
When a player joins the experience, it would would trick the game to think that it sent out messages which violated the policies of Roblox.[1] The messages consisted of illegal terms, hate speech and pornography.[2][3] When that happens enough, the automated program would ban the user, thinking it actually violated a rule.
Timeline
[edit]Sometime around July 17, 2022, a Roblox experience with the name of "Crosswoods [A.2]" was created.
Around 1 day later, on July 18, 2022, a Youtube video with the title of "Real footage from crosswoods roblox DO NOT JOIN" was uploaded by WR Sharing where it showed what happened a streamer called Clark1000 joined said experience. It showed a red sky and a spinning camera. He was subsequently kicked from the experience, and found out that his account was deleted.
The creator of the game was @ClientERR0R, who had created such a game previously.
On July 19, 2024, the creator of the game @ClientERR0R was permanently banned, without the ability to appeal 1 day later. This marked the end of this incident.
