Tamar Chergoleishvili (Georgian: თამარ ჩერგოლეიშვილი, born May 25, 1975 in Tbilisi) is a Georgian journalist and politician. She is the founder of online magazine Tabula.
Life and career
[edit]Born on May 25, 1975, She graduated in 1997 from the Faculty of International Law and Relations at Tbilisi State University, majoring in international relations and earned a Master’s in International Human Rights Law from the University of Strasbourg. From 1997 to 1998, She worked for the American Bar Association and began working for the Council of Europe in 2000. She served as the head of the legal group at the Council of Europe from 2006 to 2010. In 2009, she founded the magazine Tabula, and at the end of 2012 launched Tabula television, which soon ceased broadcasting.
In 2023, she started her political career by becoming a member of European Georgia.[1], which she left in 2024 along with her colleagues due to an internal dispute[2]
Personal Life
[edit]Chergoleishvili has been married to Georgian politician Giga Bokeria since 2006. She has two children: Ekaterine (born in 1997 from first marriage) and Kesaria (born in 2006).
