- Comment: Does not appear to meet WP:NSONG. Guardian article only mentions the song in passing. ~Liancetalk 03:00, 31 May 2024 (UTC)

"Sunset" is a song by American singer-songwriter Caroline Polachek. It was released on October 17th, 2022 through Perpetual Novice as the third single from Polachek's fourth album, Desire, I Want to Turn Into You (2023).
Background
[edit]Polachek began production of the song in 2020 alongside Bodega. After unintentionally overstaying a work visa in the United Kingdom, the pair relocated to Barcelona to finish working on the song. While in Barcelona, they recruited Spanish guitar player Marc Lopez, who played guitar that is featured in portions of the song. Polachek also stated that the song began production soon after the death of Ennio Morricone, whose "epic tone" in film scores inspired the song's sound.[2]
Composition
[edit]"Sunset" has been described as a pop song with Spanish and flamenco influences.[3] Charisma Madarang of Rolling Stone described the song as being "[weaved with] Polachek's signature otherworldly vocals with Balearic beats, hand claps, and nimble guitar strings."
Music video
[edit]A music video was released alongside the single on October 12, 2022. The music video, directed by Polachek and her partner Matt Copson, features various shots of Polachek wandering the streets, rooftops, and outdoors of Barcelona. The music video also features the song's co-producer, Sega Bodega.[4] Within the music video are also references to other works by Polachek, including bumper stickers that reference Bunny Is a Rider, Billions, and Pretty In Possible[5]
