Solange Tuyishime Keita was born in East Africa. She survived war and genocide at the age of 11, becoming a refugee during her early childhood years. Her experiences during this period shaped her resolve to dedicate her life to improving the world.

After relocating to Canada, Solange completed her education at École Sainte-Anne in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She earned a scholarship to St. Thomas University, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Honours in French. Solange won the title of Miss New Brunswick in 2005, which led to her winning the title of Miss Canada International in 2006. Following her reign as Miss Canada, Solange used her Miss Canada scholarship to complete a Master's in Public Administration.

Career

Elevate International and Leadership

Solange Tuyishime Keita is the founder, President & CEO of Elevate International, a global platform committed to:

Celebrating and amplifying the voices of leaders making a difference.
Advancing women's leadership and economic empowerment.
Elevating girls' education and leadership opportunities worldwide.

Through initiatives like the Elevate UNdaunted podcast and mentorship programs, Solange fosters connections between global leaders, corporations, and emerging leaders.

Humanitarian Work

A champion of humanitarian causes, Solange Tuyishime Keita serves as a UNICEF Canada Ambassador, advocating for children's rights globally. Through her leadership, she has tirelessly worked to:

Empower young girls in refugee camps to believe in their dreams.

Solange has been a spokesperson for National UNICEF Day in Canada and a keynote speaker at numerous UNICEF events worldwide.

Pageantry

Solange was introduced to pageantry in her early twenties. She went on to win titles such as Miss New Brunswick and Miss Canada, representing her platform with grace and determination. Solange has had the honour of representing Canada in pageantry on numerous occasions, winning the titles of Miss Canada Galaxy, Ms. Galaxy International, and Mrs. Canada, which led to her finishing in the Top 5 at Mrs. Universe (with 80 plus countries) and becoming the First Runner-Up at Mrs. World.

She later placed among the Top 10 at Miss Universe Canada, where she was recognized with several awards, including:
