Smytten is an Indian company established in 2015 and founded by Swagat Sarangi[3] and Siddhartha Nangia[4]. It is a direct-to-customer (D2C) tech platform for product discovery, trial, and e-commerce.[5]
In May 2022, the consumer base of the company is more than 10 million and have more than 1,200 Brand partners working with them.[6][7]
History
[edit]In 2015, Smytten had raised an investment of ₹160 lakh (US$190,000) from industry veterans late last year as a seed capital.[8][9]
In 2016, the company has launched its mobile app that contains skin care and personal care products of beauty brands.[10] In the same year, In April, the firm had secured an undisclosed amount as funding from Rajan Anandan.[9]
In Oct 2019, the company has raised ₹11 crore (US$1.3 million) from its existing investor Roots Ventures.[11][12]
In Aug 2021, the company has raised ₹48 crore (US$5.8 million) in Series A funding round led by FireSide Ventures. Planning to invest the funds towards enhancing consumer engagement, allowing D2C brands to better assess market-fit, retention, product marketing and communication strategy.[13]
In 2022, the company raised ₹100 crore (US$12 million) in Series B funding which was led by Fireside Ventures and Roots Ventures.[14][15]
In Feb 2023, the company launched its experiential offline store at Gaur City Mall, Noida.[16][17]
Products
[edit]Smytten hosts trial packs from 1200+ renowned brands across lifestyle categories, including beauty and makeup, fragrances, baby and mother care, male grooming, food & beverages, and health and wellness.[18][19]
Partnership
[edit]In Sep 2022, the company had partnered with Luxury skincare brand Forest Essentials to expand reach in indian market by offering trial packs more than 10 products in skincare, haircare, and bath essentials.[20] In Nov 2022, the company partnered with indian celebrity Vaishnavi Prakash and influencer Aisha Mahdi for its Black Friday sale event.[21]
