Shuah Khan
[edit]Shuah khan is a Linux kernel developer and Linux Foundation fellow.[1][2][3]. She maintains the Kernel Selftest framework, USB over IP driver, CPU power monitoring subsystem, and Virtual Media Controller driver.[4].
In 2019, she became the third Linux Foundation fellow after Linus Torvalds, and Greg Kroah Hartman[5][1][6][7]. She is best known for her work on kselftest, a regression testing suite for the Linux kernel[8][9].
She has also served on the Linux Foundation Technical Advisory Board[10] and as the chair of the ELISA Project Technical Steering Committee[11].
Early Life and Education
[edit]Khan was born in India[12]. She has a bachelors degree in Electronics and communications engineering and a masters degree in Computer science[6][1].
Career
[edit]After completing her masters she briefly worked at Bell labs[1]. She then worked at Hewlett Packard for 13 years[1]. She has also worked at Samsung open source as senior kernel developer[13][14]
Khan made her first contribution to the kernel in 2011.[10][5]
Activism
[edit]Khan has been vocal on gender gap in the Linux kernel community and advocates for diversity and inclusion[12][15][6][16][17]. She heads various mentorship and outreach programs to help bring new developers to the kernel[18][12][19].
