Seth Maxwell (born 11/21/1998) is an American professional basketball player, currently with the Santa Cruz Warriors, the NBA G League affiliate[1] of the Golden State Warriors. Known for his 7 foot, 248 pound presence on the court, Maxwell has established himself as one of the best NAIA basketball players of all time, earning acclaim for his standout college career, impressive statistics, and defensive skills.

Basketball Life and Education

[edit]

Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he attended Abington Heights High School[2]. After graduation, Maxwell attended a prestigious preparatory school, The Hill School, where he led his team in winning their State Championship[3]. His strong performance at The Hill School caught the attention of multiple NCAA D1 Basketball Programs that recruited Seth to play. Davidson College and Princeton to name a few. However, he decided to pursue a faith based education and committed to Indiana Wesleyan University[4], which was known for being the best NAIA basketball school in the country. While there, Maxwell was instrumental in leading the Wildcats to multiple historic winnings[5] and was consistently recognized for his performance, both offensively and defensively. Some of the legendary stories of Seth Maxwell include (but are not limited to) when he dropped 25 points in the second half after breaking his nose and when he scored a collegiate career high of 36 points. During his Covid-eligibility year, he had the opportunity to transfer and play for a respected NCAA D1 University. However, he decided to remain faithful and loyal to the Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats, which is a testament to his impeccable character. After his graduation, Seth had multiple NBA/FIBA certified agents interested in representing him. He decided to play his rookie professional season overseas, where his personal and professional growth caught the attention of multiple countries and the NBA G League.
