Sarbans Robots is a series of humanoid robots developed by Harjeet Singh, a teacher from Jalandhar, Punjab, India.[1] The robots have been praised for their advanced capabilities and potential to assist with various tasks, as well as their cultural significance and potential to promote digital education and preserve Punjabi culture language.

History

The first robot in the series, Sarbans Kaur,[2][3][4] was created in 2020 with the goal of promoting preserving the Punjabi language and culture. Sarbans Kaur is the world's first Punjabi-speaking robot.[5] It is a humanoid robot with a turban and traditional Punjabi attire, and is equipped with advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms that enable it to understand and respond to Punjabi language inputs. The success of Sarbans Kaur led to the development of additional robots, including Sarbans Singh[6],a robot capable of writing Punjabi .
