From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Samuel Steinle Samuel Steinle was born on August 12, 2004, and is most notably idolized for his fishing achievements, especially for the event locally known as "The Big Bass Day." Samuel continues to fish across the United States for fish species he has yet to catch, and he is close to catching all the fish species in Montana, USA. Besides fishing, Samuel is proficient in the art of crocodile wrestling and noodling for catfish. Samuel lives happily with his two dogs named, Morgan and Blue in midwestern Montana.

Big Bass Day On July 23, 2018, Samuel was fishing at a local pond named Tamarack trying to catch the mysterious big largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) that nobody was able to catch. He brought a homemade lure made of a spinner and a fly from his own invention and used variations of those on that day going from place to place on his fishing boat. At around noon when the fishing seemed to be useless and no fish had even nibbled, Samuel threw in one more cast. Samuel then got a bight from a smaller sunfish and he continued to reel it in. While reeling, the big bass ate the sunfish on his line and Samuel continued to reel both the fish in. His father David Steinle, was there with the net and they landed the big bass. The weight of the bass was 7.79 pounds with a length of 20.32 inches. This fish was smaller then the state record caught by Brandon Wright in Lake Elmo, on April 24, 2021, which weighed 9.575 pounds and was 22.5 inches long (Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks. 2024). The story spread in the local area of Kalispell, MT since many fishermen were trying to fish for that specific local Largemouth bass and the locals called it "Big Bass Day".

This biography is told second hand by his brother Jacob Steinle.
