  • Comment: I'm a little iffy on this one. There aren't a ton of sources. One is affiliated, two are from the same publication (though different bylines, and one is quite extensive and completely about subject and his wife), the fourth is one I'm not familiar with.

Sébastien Lepinoy was born in Cantenay-Epinard in the Loire Valley[2] in France. He obtained a certificat d'aptitude professionnelle at CFA La Roseraie, Angers.[citation needed]

Early career

In 1991, at age 17, Lepinoy began working at the one-star Chateau de Noirieux in Briollay. At 18 he moved to Paris for his apprenticeship. After completing military service, he returned to his culinary career at the two Michelin star restaurant Laurent in Paris. He worked for Joël Robuchon's team at the three-star restaurant Jamin. In 2002, Lepinoy was hired by Le Grand Café in Kyiv, Ukraine, where he established his own name and was honored with the title of "Best Chef in Ukraine”.

Later career

Lepinoy was hired by Robuchon in 2006 as Chef de Cuisine at the two Michelin star Hotel Metropole Monte Carlo. He became executive Chef at l’Atelier de Joel Robuchon in Hong Kong in 2008.[1][3] He became head chef of Cepage in Hong Kong in 2010.[1]

Personal life

He is married to South Korean chef Olivia Lee, whom he met in 2014.[2] They have a daughter together.[2]
