"Rock 'n' Roll Christmas" is a Christmas song by American blues rock band George Thorogood and the Destroyers. It was released as a single in December 1983 by EMI America,[1][2][3] and was included in the Christmas compilation album A Rock 'n' Roll Christmas.[4]
Writing and recording
[edit]George Thorogood wrote "Rock 'n' Roll Christmas", while Dave Edmunds produced it.[1][5] The song was written as a holiday special for MTV.[1]
Release
[edit]"Rock 'n' Roll Christmas" was released as a single in December 1983 by EMI America with "New Year's Eve Party" as the B-side.[5][6] The song was also included in the Christmas compilation album A Rock 'n' Roll Christmas, released by PolyGram Special Markets.[4] The song was also included in the Destroyer's compilation album The Original George Thorogood.[7]

[edit]The music video for "Rock 'n' Roll Christmas" was done by MTV as a holiday special, with John Lee Hooker appearing in the video.[1][5]
