Draft:Relative Syndrome
Submission declined on 25 June 2024 by Chaotic Enby (talk). Neologisms are not considered suitable for Wikipedia unless they receive substantial use and press coverage; this requires strong evidence in independent, reliable, published sources. Links to sites specifically intended to promote the neologism itself do not establish its notability.

Relative Syndrome is a non medical term but is used in popular culture, particularly among males and females in the millennial and GenX age groups, to voice a personal preference that they are not physically attracted to another person of the same race with a romantic outlook.
Relative Syndrome being 2 words from the English language is believed to have become popularized as a term to be used in casual conversation in western countries where English is the primary language such as United Kingdom, Canada or the United States of America. It is believed that the intended use of the term is not meant to cause offence but an honest opinion regarding ones preferences for potential romantic partners.
Example: Actors: Ankit (Indian male), Chris (Asian male) Transcript: Ankit: "Chris, do you find the asian lady at the tennis club attractive?" Chris" "No. Unfortunately I am not really attracted to women of my own race. She reminds me of my sister or auntie!" Ankit: "Ok. Sounds like you may have Relative Syndrome since all the guys find her attractive"
