Progressive Railroading is a monthly magazine covering the North American railroad industry aimed at railroad industry employees. The magazine covers news and trends and is primarily focused on the United States and Canada.[1] The magazine is published by Trade Press Media Group, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The website also hosts Jobs/Classifieds, a product catalog, and buyers guides.
Progressive Railroading was founded by Frank Richter in 1972 at Murphy-Richter Publishing in Chicago. Frank would later sell the publishing company to Ron Mitchell and Rich Zemencik in 1989. Mitchell and Zemencik would then sell Progressive Railroading to Trade Press Publishing Corp. in 1994. Trade Press Publishing Corp. would later become Trade Press Media Group.[2][3] tt
