The Progress Party (Arabic: حزب تقدم) is a Jordanian political party. Following the 2024 general elections, it became the fourth largest party in the House of Representatives.

Ideology

[edit]

The party claims to support economic and governmental modernization, as well as a democratic, constitutional state with social and political equality for all it's citizens including youth, families, and women, who it specifically mentions as groups it wishes to empower. Furthermore, the party states it wishes to decentralize public administration according to a principle of "centralization in planning, decentralization in execution".[2]

Economically, the party aims to establish an economy based on the principles of competition, combating of monopolization, and the backing of small and medium sized enterprises - as well as promoting innovation in the information and media sectors.[2]

The party is pro-Palestine, stating that the Palestinian issue can only be resolved through the establishment of a Palestinian state with it's capital in Jerusalem, and the end of the occupation.[2]
